Golden Rose ’14 – Honourable Mention for Individual Achievements for ensemble acting performance

30-years old Angel is living in the big city, but can’t find his way in life. One day he decides to emigrate from Bulgaria. Unfortunately he has no money, so he agrees to smuggle a drug packet to a frontier market. When he gets there, he sees the dealer’s brutality and understands that if he wants to live, he must run away to the near mountain. There, in the woods, he joins a group of men, producing coal. As time is passing, Angel becomes closer with the men. They are: the tough and intelligent Serb Branko, the funny Macedonian Lyupcho, the silent Bulgarian mohammedan Ahmed, the joyful gipsy Robert and the dark yoga Stefan. There is also Nadya – a beautiful Russian with her four kids, living in the commune. Life inside the coal commune is fine for Angel, but not for long – he will understand why here in the Balkans, friendship, love and tolerance cannot coexist.
