Julien Temple

Julien Temple (born 26 Nov. 1953 in London) is an English film, documentary and music video director. While attending the National Film School in London, he became fascinated with the emerging punk culture, particularly the notorious Sex Pistols, and made a sensational feature debut with The Great Rock 'n' Roll Swindle. Following its success, Temple became established as one of the pioneers of music videos, as well as helming feature-length projects like the concert-comedy fests, musicals, musical comedies and drama feature films. Together with the other 9 directors who helmed Aria he was nominated for „Golden Palm”. He was also nominated for the Grand Jury Prize in Sundance for Joe Strummer: The Future Is Unwritten, and won the Audience award at Sao Paulo IFF for The Filth and the Fury.
