Georgi Balabanov

He is born in 1951 in Sofia. Graduated from The National Theater Institut in 1974. From 1976 to 1980 he works as a director in „Konstantin Velitchkov” theater in Pazardzhik. In 1981 starts working in STF „Ekran” where he make documentaries, shown and awarded in many film festivals. After a year of specialization in Paris, Balabanov starts working at Theater Du Soleil. In 1990 he settles down in France. Since then he works with ARTE France. The Petrov File is his feature debut.
