Álvaro Brechner

Born in 1976 in Montevideo, Uruguay, Alvaro Brechner now lives in Spain. He has directed several documentaries TV productions. His short films The Nine Mile Walk (2003), Sofia (2005), and Segundo Aniversario (2007). These short films have participated in more than 140 international film festivals, capturing several awards. Bad Day to Go Fishing (2009), Brechner's feature film debut, premiered at Cannes. Alvaro Brechner is part of the 15th Sofia Film Fest's international jury.
