Michael Winterbottom

Born in Blackburn, Great Britain, in 1961, he graduated from Oxford in Literature and then studied cinematography at Bristol and in London. He began working with several television networks (BBC, ITV and Grenada). After some documentaries he entered full-length film direction with Butterfly Kiss which received numerous awards. Winner of “Golden Bear” for In This World and of “Silver Bear for best direction for The Road to Guantanamo.
