Yasmila Zbanic

She was born in 1974. Graduated in Theater and Film Directing from the Academy of Performing Arts in Sarajevo. Lived in the US from 1995 to 1997, where she worked as a puppeteer. In 1997 established “Deblokada Produkcija” and made documental and short movies. In 1998, she directed Noc je. Mi svijetlimo - one of the segments of the documentary Made in Sarajevo. In 2006, Grbavica: The Land of my Dreams won the Golden Bear in Berlin. In 2007 the movie was in Balkan Movie Meetings at 11th Sofia Film Fest.
