Stefan Komandarev

A Bulgarian director, born in 1966. He has graduated from Medical university in Sofia and film and TV direction in New Bulgarian University. He is an EFA member. His feature debut, Dog’s House, was presented in Berlinale’s Forum. His documentaries Bread Over the Fence and Alphabet of Hope have received numerous national and international awards. His second feature film, The World Is Big And Salvation Lurks around the Corner, is the most widely distributed Bulgarian film internationally – 92 countries in Europe, America, Asia and Australia. It has received over 30 international wards, 10 of them being Audience Awards. It was amongst the shortlisted Best Foreign Language Films, 2010 Oscar.
